A long career as an executive at BP provided Simon with a deep background in operational and reputational risk assessment in the energy industry. He is passionate about supporting companies and organizations playing a role in the energy transition to a lower carbon economy.
Background
Simon provides leadership, advisory, and investment in energy in the transition to a lower carbon economy. He combines deep scientific background with business leadership. Simon engages “up, down and across” organizations to assess operational and reputational risk, prevent crises, and uphold reputation.
Simon served twenty five years with BP, with executive roles leading businesses with revenues and capital expenditures of $100s millions in Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean. His early career included roles as a geologist with exposure to SE Asia and former Soviet Union countries. In the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon crisis he was Chief of Staff, Safety and Operational Risk, driving a strategic and systematic approach to executive management of safety and operational risk in the BP Group.
Simon is President of Capriole Energy, his own platform for advisory and investing.
